William B. "Willie", "Bill" Curry

ELKHART — William B. Curry, 71, passed away Sunday January 14, 2018 at Riverside Village after a brief illness. Bill was born on September 1, 1946 in Milan, Tennessee to the late Hullert and Louise (Warlick) Curry. He is survived by his former wife and best friend Sara Curry, 4 children, Marlon Curry, Jessica Curry, Brian Merritt, Dr. Scott (Mona) Merritt and their mother, Glenda Curry Kavanaugh; 12 grandchildren; 3 step-children, Sara Lee Hobson, Kenneth Dollins, Alvin (Chrissy) Dollins; 16 step-grandchildren, 9 step great grandchildren; brother Willie and sister LaVonne; and a special godson, Greg Bowman; also many nieces and nephews survive as well. Bill worked as an over the road truck driver for many years. Bill proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War, from 1965 until his honorable discharge in 1967.  He was an ordained minister and was the Associate Pastor at House of Prayer Community Church in Cassopolis, MI. for close to 20 years. He and Sara attend World Harvest Church in Elkhart. Home going services celebrating Bill’s life will begin at Noon, 12:00 PM, Saturday, January 20, 2018 at World Harvest Church, 1610 S. Nappanee St. Elkhart, with visitation from 11:00 AM until service time. Pastor Emmanuel Gonzales and Rev. Rayvon Bufkin will officiate. Military honors by the US Army Funeral Honor Guard will be rendered at the conclusion of the service. Cremation was chosen, with burial at a later date. The family kindly request memorials to the church. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart.
