ELKHART - Richard L. “Dick” Lint, 85, of Elkhart, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017 at the Center for Hospice Care, Elkhart. Richard was born June 30, 1931 in Shipshewana to the late Lloyd and Helen (Moughler) Lint. He married the former Shirley A. Garlets on June 27, 1954 in Mongo. Shirley passed on July 12, 2009. Surviving are three sons, Jeffrey L. Lint of Indianapolis, Steven R. (Cheryl) Lint and Randall A. Lint, both of Elkhart. Also surviving are five grandchildren; Erica, Robert (Andrea), David (Aubrey), Benjamin and Nathan Lint; 5 great grandchildren; Olivia, Hayden, Peyton, Annabelle, and Lincoln with 2 more on the way and his sister Eleanor Wert. He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Judy Hamilton and brother-in-law, Vern Wert. Richard was the advertising manager at Adams & Westlake-Allied Products Corporation with 35 years of service. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge where he was a 32nd degree mason, also, Ft. Wayne Mizpah Shrine, Scottish Rite of South Bend, Tyrian Lodge #12, Goshen, Elkhart Shrine Club where he was Shriner of the Year in 1994, and the Elkhart Moose Lodge #599. He was also a former member of the Elkhart Evening Optimist Club and Elkhart Jaycees. Richard enjoyed cards, especially Caribbean Stud Poker and golf. He and Shirley enjoyed cruises and traveling together. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 until his honorable discharge in 1953. He was a member of the Bristol American Legion and DAV Chapter #19. Visitation for Richard will be at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin Street, Elkhart on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 6-8 pm with a Masonic Service at 7:30 p.m. Celebration of life services will begin at 11:00 am with visitation 1 hour prior on Friday, February 3, 2017, also at Billings Funeral Home.  Andy Williams, Chaplain with DAV #19 will officiate. Entombment will follow at the Memories Mausoleum at Rice Cemetery where Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army Funeral Honor Guard and the DAV #19 following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL  33607 or DAV #19, 1205 Middleton Run Rd., Elkhart, IN  46516.
