ELKHART — Florence E. Eash, 91, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully of natural causes Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, at Valley View Kindred Healthcare System.

Born Oct. 22, 1926, in Edwardsburg, Michigan, to the late Charles and Lila (Covey) Bement, she later married Russell Eash on Nov. 11, 1950. He preceded her in death along with siblings George, Charles, Richard and Margaret Bement, Anna Poyser, Barbara Morgan and Mary Juday; stepchildren Beverly Anderson and Milton Eash; and granddaughter Kimberly Ransom.

Surviving are her son, Charles (Steven) Eash-Sanford; daughter-in-law Melody (Eash) Moore and her mother Pearl Reid; stepdaughter-in-law Juanita (Milton) Eash; sister-in-law Lorraine Bement; grandchildren Petty Officer 1st Class Andrew Eash, USN, Heather Eash Borosh, Dennis (Diane) and Glenn (Terri) Eash, Denise (Kevin) Cummins, David (Jan) and Douglas (Linda) Krouser, as well as a host of great- and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She worked at Selmer’s of Elkhart until she retired in 1988.

Florence was an avid bowler and bowled from the age of 19 until well into her 70s when she was inducted into the Elkhart Bowler’s Hall of Fame in 2001.

She also belonged to the Elkhart Women of the Moose and was a member of the Elkhart Valley Church of the Brethren.

No immediate services have been planned.

Arrangements are under the care of Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart, with private burial in Oakridge Cemetery in Bristol.
