William C. Morrison

ELKHART — William C. “Bill” Morrison, 83, of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, at IU Medical Center in Indianapolis following an extended illness.

He was born Dec. 30, 1934, in Elkhart, to the late Floyd and Rosetta (Mabie) Morrison Sr., and later married Geraldine “Clara” Olinger on April 23, 1966. She survives at home after 52 wonderful years together.

Also surviving are daughter Patricia “Patty” (James) Netterour; sisters Nancy Durie, Rosa Mary (Frank) Conner and Patricia (Ronald) Powell; brother Floyd Morrison Jr.; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces and nephews. 

Preceding Bill in death were children William Morrison Jr. and Linda Morrison.

Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart will host Bill’s celebration of life memorial service at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. 

Cremation has taken place and burial will follow services in Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart.

Bill was nearly a lifelong employee of NIBCO of Elkhart, retiring from the shipping and receiving department in 1998 after 40 years there. 

He enjoyed fishing, playing cards with his family and friends and auto racing. 

He was also a U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany in the post-Korean years.
