Pastor Wellington B. “Bruce” White, 84, of Edwardsburg, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 15, 2020 in the comfort of his home and family.
Bruce was born on November 29, 1935 in Flint, MI to the late Warren and Madelyn (Enyart) White. He married the love of his life, Janet Ann Harris,
Bruce is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janet; 3 sons, Bruce R. “Bob” (Linda) White, Michael E. “Mike” White and Wellington P. “Phil” White; 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; as well as 3 brothers, Lynn (Carol), Mike (Marilyn) and Lonnie (Jane) White; 3 sisters; Norma (Dale, Ewart, Joyce White and Pat (Marlin) Eitland along with several nieces and nephews.
Bruce was a Pastor, Evangelist and teacher. He was with the Assembly of God denomination. He served as a Pastor to churches in White Cloud and Coleman Michigan. His ministry went on to churches throughout the United States, Africa and Haiti. Known for his artwork, his ministry was highlighted with his Chalk art messages and illustrations.
He was a graduate of the Anchor Bay Bible Institute in Detroit. He also taught at Southwestern Michigan College, where he specialized in “air brush”. His artwork won him acclaim as an airbrush artist, starting in the Van Conversion industry and then moving to the RV industry. Serving many companies, he spent the last full time years as artist for NewMar Corporation, traveling with them to NewMar rallies and painting murals on their Motor Homes, as well as holding Sunday Services at the rallies as their Chaplin. His artwork and passion for Christ has gone across the world. He was also an incredible woodcarver, father, husband and friend to many. He led an incredible and full life.
Friends may visit with his family from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. Services celebrating Pastor Bruce White’s life will follow beginning at 1:00 pm. A close family friend Dr. Jonathon Vorce of Lakewood Family Church of Hudson, Florida will officiate.
