Thomas Watson Life Story

Thomas L. “Tom” Watson, 74, passed away peacefully early Monday morning. October 19, 2020 at Courtyard Healthcare Center in Goshen. Tom was born on May 16, 1946 in Buckhannon, West Virginia to the late Herman T. and Betty Lou (Smith) Watson.

Tom married his true love and best friend Rose Mary Williams on April 24, 1969 in Buckhannon, West Virginia. Surviving is his wife of 51 years, Rose Watson; three children; Jonathon Watson, Spencer (Max) Watson and Rita Perillo; He will be greatly missed by his 7 grandchildren; Ryun Watson, Robyn Watson, Ian Watson, Nikki Perillo, Cheyanne (Brandon) Baker, Victoria Perillo, Jack Watson; two great grandchildren, Ryder Watson and Colton Baker; brother Herman (Barbara) Watson and his sister Connie Burr.

In addition to his parents, a son Edward Scott Watson preceded him in death.

Tom was Vice President of Family Nursing Services for 20 years, working side by side with his wife Rose. He drove many clients over the years to appointments, doctor visits and just helping anyway he can. He stayed many nights, just so they wouldn’t be alone. Tom proudly served in United States Army in Germany during the Vietnam War.

Tom enjoyed bowling, wetting a line, hunting and playing golf. Most important to Tom, was spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Per his wishes, cremation was chosen, with burial at a later date.

Arrangements are under the care of Billings Funeral Home. Elkhart, Indiana.
