Stephanie Ankrom Life Story

Mrs. Stephanie Noelle Ankron, 37, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully but unexpectedly in her home on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 4:26 am. She was born in Goshen on Christmas Day, 1983 to Robert B. and Rebecca J. (Metzler) Kelly of Elkhart and later married Rusty A. Ankrom on February 27, 2010 in Milford. He survives at home.

Also surviving are her children William, Madison, Jaxon, and Eleanor; brothers Brad (Abigail) Kelly of Goshen and Max Kelly of Elkhart, and sisters Dryscha (Michael) Hershberger and Jordan (Patrick) Smith, both of Goshen. Also surviving are a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

In accordance with Stephanie’s wishes, no immediate services or viewing have been scheduled, and Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart are currently assisting the family with cremation arrangements.

Stephanie worked many years in the hospitality business as a front desk clerk at several area motels but had recently been attending college classes in hopes of receiving a degree in Healthcare Administration. However, her proudest times were when she was able to watch and interact with her children as they were growing up because she loved to watch them learn and succeed at things they did. Stephanie had always been close with her childhood family and parents as well, and always had a special place in her heart for her dad, Bob, who suffers from ALS.

Stephanie was a very pro-active person, and generally seemed to be the first one to step up and take control of a project or event. She especially liked helping others, and they would say that she was always the first to arrive and the last to leave, and she always, always put her heart into everything she did.

She enjoyed all kinds of crafts, including diamond painting, needlepoint and blanket tying. She was also a great cook, with Chicken Parmesan being her most favorite dish and she was a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan.

Memorial donations may be given to the charity of one’s choice. Friends and relatives are encouraged to leave condolences and memories of Stephanie by clicking “Tribute Wall” on her obituary page.
