Ronald "John" Goorhouse

Ronald “John” Goorhouse,55, of Elkhart passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at his home.

John was born on May 14, 1965 to Ronald J. and the late, Betty (Lester) Goorhouse. He was married to Tammy (Kinne) Goorhouse on August 17, 2020. John is preceded by his mother, Betty.

John is survived by his wife, Tammy of Elkhart; father, Ronald J. Goorhouse of Elkhart; children, Blake Goorhouse of Nappanee, Steven Norman of Elkhart, Josh (Nichole) Bieck of Ft. Wayne, Ashley (Jon) Hopkins of Kansas City, MO; Stephanie Norman of Elkhart, and Sherry Thomas of Nappanee; brother, Chris (J.C.) Goorhouse of Osceola; sister, Peggy Goorhouse of Mishawaka; and 7 grandchildren.

John was the owner of Big John’s Plumbing in Wakarusa. He was a coach with Wakarusa Little League baseball team. John was also owner and football coach with the semi-pro, Michiana Thunderhawks. He enjoyed being in the great outdoors especially camping and fishing. John loved making people laugh and had a big personality. Most of all, John loved taking his grandkids to their games.

A Celebration of Life Service for John will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN with Pastor Jeremy Sarber officiating. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the start of service from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
