Robert L. Rose

Robert Leighton Rose, 61, formerly of Middlebury, IN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Trailpoint Village in South Bend. He was born on July 26, 1959 in Elkhart, IN to the late Wesley Duane Rose, who passed away on January 29, 2009, and Genean Kay (Rickey) Rose, who survives in Mission Hills, CA. 

He is also survived by his daughters, Julia Rose of Cheboygan, MI and Jeannie (Scott) Rockwell of Pearland, TX; ten grandchildren; four sisters and two brothers, Brenda K. (Kenneth) Story of Bristol, IN, Duane A. (Ana) Rose of Mission Hills, CA, Rhonda R. Ahrens-Adalpd of Colorado Springs, CO, Gregory A. Rose of Michigan City, IN, Suzanne F. (Christopher) Lemonte of Indiana, and Christine F. (David) Gurk of Cape Coral, FL; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, great and great great nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Robert’s wishes, cremation was chosen and will take place at Billings Funeral Home and Altera Cremation Services, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart, IN 46514. He will be laid to rest at a later date at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart.

Robert was a creative and hardworking man who enjoyed woodworking and creating amazing designs with his Lego’s. He will be missed greatly by his loving family and many friends.
