Scott Simons, 66, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021, while in the comfort of his own home, with his loving wife and family by his side. Scott’s life began in Elkhart on September 15, 1955, he was one of four children born to the late Richard P. and Vera L. (Spry) Simons.
He married his true love and best friend Debra J. Wright on January 14, 1989 in Elkhart. Surviving is his wife of 47 years, Debra J. Simons, sons, Jim (Andrea) Hawkins, John (Jeannie) Hawkins; daughters, Sydne (Michael) Rogers and Mandy Donis; 9 loving grandchildren, whom he adored, Kennedie Rogers, Kaden Rogers, Kambrie Rogers, Joanna Hawkins, Presley Donis, Tommy Hawkins, Katherine Hawkins, Jonah Hawkins and Zaidee Rankin; as well as his three brothers, John “Steve”(Teresa) Simons, twins, Phil (Vicky) Simons and Eric Simons and his lifelong best friend Scott (Carol) Spence.
Scott had an extensive career in the RV Industry as a maintenance technician. He had a love for all things Harley Davidson and enjoyed riding his Sportster. He enjoyed fishing, bird and squirrel watching, as well as being a huge Sci Fi and Star Wars and Star Trek fan. He loved eating taco’s and french fries and was the go to fix-it guy in the family.
A service to celebrate the life of Scott Simons will begin at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, with visitation from 4-6 p.m. on December 8, 2021 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart, his daughter Sydne Rogers will officiate. Following the service, all are invited for a meal and more fellowship at the Gathering Place at Centre 1231, our event center located on the grounds of the funeral home. In honoring his wishes, cremation was chosen. Memorials are kindly requested to the Elkhart County Humane Society or any animal rescue facility.
