Richard White Life Story

Richard P. White, 88, of Elkhart, IN passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021 at his home.

Richard was born on September 13, 1932 in Elkhart to the late, Chester Arthur White and Mary (Mingle) White. Richard was married to the love of his life, Irene (Trigg) White in 1953.

He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 daughters; brother, Clarence and sister, Isabelle.

Richard is survived by his wife of 68 years, Irene of Elkhart; children, Doug (Diana) White, Debbie (Robert) Anderson, Kathy Herron and Sherry (Terry) Wilmore; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and his “favorite child”, his dog, Lexi.Richard was a machinist at Conn Selmer for over 40 years. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Elkhart. He enjoyed travelling especially to Michigan where he vacationed in Northern Michigan for most of his life. Richard played softball in his younger years and he was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, cooking and baking bread.

Richard will be remembered as being laid back yet had a great sense of humor. Family and friends will gather for a memorial service for Richard at a later date.
