Richard George Mirabile

Richard George Mirabile, Sr., 69, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family at his side following an extended illness on Monday, Feb. 17, 2020 at 1:30 am.  He was born June 21, 1950 in Islip, NY to the late George Francisco and Rose Marie (Giordano) Mirabile. On Dec. 31, 1968, Richard married Della Mae Hall in Las Vegas, NV. She survives at home after 51 loving years together.

Surviving are sons Richard Mirabile, Jr. and Robert “Bob” (Allisa) Mirabile; grandchildren  Alexandria, Robert Jr., Drake and Joseph Mirabile; sister Rita Laws and brother-in-law Virgil Hall.

A memorial celebration of Richard’s life will take place at Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart at 5:00 pm on Friday, Feb. 21, 2020, with visitation beginning there at 4 pm. Billings Funeral Home chaplain Jeremy Sarber will officiate. In accordance with Richard’s wishes, cremation has taken place. 

Richard worked in the aerosol packaging industry most of his life. He worked for Aerosol Services in The City of Industry, CA, and for Accra Pac in Elkhart after moving here. He was very family oriented and whether it was camping, fishing or travelling on vacation, Richard was most content spending time with his loving wife, children and grandchildren. He also was an avid Corvette enthusiast and movie buff, and he loved to take long cruises in his Corvette or watch movies like The Godfather, Star Trek or Star Wars.
