Randi K. Pickley, 75, formerly of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at Legacy Barberton Skilled Nursing Facility in Barberton, Ohio.
She was born in Elkhart, IN on December 17, 1947 to the late Richard and Fern (Longhenrich) Woodkey and is survived by her brother, Richard “Kim” Woodkey; daughter, Brinden Brown; son, Brad (Holly) Brown; and granddaughter, Madilyn Sheerin.
Randi was a true renaissance woman. She was a singer, dancer, actor, choral director, photographer, artist, crafter, award-winning costume designer, musician who played 7 instruments, composer, gourmet cook, calligrapher and poet. She got her music degree from Ball State University and taught voice and violin lessons privately and later became an adjunct professor in voice, violin, and music appreciation at Southwestern Michigan College. She performed with many groups in the Michiana area including Kaleidoscope Kids, Bristol Opera House, Super Snooty Strings, Sweet Adelines, and DanceSport Ballroom. Randi appreciated mother nature and all that life had to offer.
She lived a spirit filled life. Whether it was her constant quest for knowledge or sharing her God given talents (especially with children), she wanted to leave the world a better place.
Randi will be remembered as a kind, loving woman with a bubbly personality and a shining smile that would light up the room.
A Celebration of Randi’s Life Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 pm Noon, Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN with visitation 2 hours prior to the service from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Pastor Chip Roush of First Unitarian Church of South Bend will officiate. Per the family’s request, she was cremated in Ohio.
Private burial will be at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart.
