Patty Seabolt Life Story

Mrs. Patty J. Seabolt, 62, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at her home with her husband Glenn and her sister Mary Jane at her side. Patty was born on November 16, 1960, in Racine, Wisconsin, to the late Kenneth A. Craft, Sr. and Yvonne (Jensen) Craft of Elkhart. On June 27, 2003, she married Glenn Allen Seabolt in Elkhart, and he has been faithfully at her side for the past 20 years.

Patty is also survived by her sons Jeremy (Robyn) Kelley of Wisconsin, Justin (Raegan) Kelley of Texas, Jordan Chacon of North Carolina, Jason Chacon of Racine and Clifford Seabolt of Elkhart; daughters Jodi (Timothy Hawkins) Payson of Racine, Rachel (Tony) Mansey and Meghan (Frank) Miller, both from South Bend; sisters Mary Jane Craft and Becky Jensen, both of Elkhart; Tammy Benson of Roseville, Illinois and Terry Jensen of Racine; brothers Jimmy Molnar and David Peterson, both of Racine and Billy (Peggy) Jensen of Union, Michigan, as well as a loving host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and good friends. Patty was preceded in death by two half-brothers, Kenneth A. Craft, Jr. and Kenny Craft, who both passed in their childhood.

It should be also mentioned that Patty is survived by her Cane Corso Italian Mastiff Champy, who was her “most bestest friend ever” and is currently sequestering himself as he comes to grips with his grief.

Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart have been assisting Patty’s family with the arrangements. In accordance with her wishes, simple cremation is to take place with no immediate services to be scheduled.

Patty worked at Lippert Components for many years and then went on to be a cook at Charlie’s Butcher Block in Elkhart. Everyone would say that Patty was a meticulous homemaker who was constantly cleaning, vacuuming, cooking or engaged in some other housekeeping activity that make even Betty Crocker look like a slacker. And it didn’t stop inside the house, either. She loved working in her garden and planting her favorite, tulips, everywhere. She also liked to feed the critters in the yard and had an appreciation for wildlife that would rival of one of those TV biologists.

Patty loved to be around others. Whether it was a gamily gathering, riding motorcycles with Glenn or cooking for a large group of family, Patty always seemed to be in her element.  She especially loved her dear Glenn, and you would hardly ever see one without the other. They were a couple hopelessly in love, and Glenn confessed to appreciating every moment Patty was able to keep him on the “straight and narrow”! (We can only imagine, Patty…..thanks for saving us from him!)

She will be remembered as a “bubbly” person who could easily make friends with just about anyone. She enjoyed simple things; friendly smiles and warm hugs were a big deal. She, along with her loving personality, will be missed by those whose hearts have been touched by her in some way throughout their lives. While Patty was not overly religious, she WAS spiritual, and in her final days she was deeply comforted by God’s promise of being able to see her dad again in Heaven. Peace be with you, Patty.

A special thank you to the caring staff at Goshen Center for Hospice, whose unyielding care was a Godsend during the family’s trying time.
