Pamela Zinsmeister Life Story

ELKHART — Pamela S. Zinsmeister, 83, of Elkhart, passed away at Elkhart General Hospital on Wednesday, December 5, 2018. She was born in Butler, PA on July 22, 1935 to the late John R. and Mabel (Hawk) Muir.

She married Richard Zinsmeister on September 22, 1956 and spent 62 wonderful years together, including five additional years while they were courting. Richard survives along with their two sons, Jeff (Shari) and John (Lisa) Zinsmeister. Pamela is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Jake Zinsmeister, Krista Zinsmeister, Stephanie Merrit, Nicole Frisinger, and Jamie Deaton as well as 6 great grandchildren, Levi Siegert, Lacy Siegert, Klarity Merrit, Kaden Merrit, Addison Frisinger, and Nicholas Frisinger. She is preceded by her parents and her sister Judith Ann Heinl. She had a great love for her family.

Pamela loved to read and ride her motorcycle, which she did avidly for over 30 years. She and her husband, Richard, were members of the BMW Club in the Chicago region and later in the South Bend/Elkhart area. She had worked for many years as a secretary at Bloom High School in Chicago Heights, IL.   

In accordance with the family’s wishes, cremation will take place at Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart.
