Nancy J. Snyder

Nancy J. Snyder, 85, of Elkhart, formerly of Bristol, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Golden Living Center in Elkhart. She was born in Northampton, MA on November 1, 1936, to the late Mr. William and Mrs. Mary Hanks.

Nancy is survived by her children, Steven (Linda) Snyder of Elkhart, Scott (Lisa) Snyder of South Bend, James (Simmy) Snyder of Elkhart, and Susan (Todd) Collins of Elkhart; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 56 years, David G. Snyder; and sister, Helen Strange.

In accordance with Nancy’s wishes, a private family graveside service will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Bristol with Father Ken Amadi of St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church of Bristol officiating. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart is in care of Nancy’s services. Memorial donations may be given to the Humane Society of Elkhart County, 54687 Co Rd 19, Bristol, IN 46507.

Nancy was a beautiful woman with a kind and giving heart. She worked for many years as an activity’s director for Golden Living Center Nursing Home in Elkhart prior to retiring. Nancy was a member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Bristol where she attended with her husband, David. She was a natural born model and loved to dress to the nines wherever she would go. Nancy was a model for local clothing stores and enjoyed every moment of it. She will be missed greatly by her loving family.
