Melissa "Missie" Johnson Life Story

Melissa L. “Missie” Johnson, 52, of Elkhart, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021 at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born in Harriman, TN on September 21, 1968 to the late Robert Johnson and Mary (Tamboso) Pierce, who survives.

Missie is also survived by her stepfather, Larry Pierce; stepmother, Cathy Harmon; daughter, Trisha Johnson; son, Jaleal Alekaily; brothers, Robert Johnson, Nick Johnson, Bobby Johnson, and Johnny Johnson; sisters, Melinda Johnson and Mary Bair; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Brenda Willings-Baker and Kahlil Alekaily. She is preceded in death by her father and sister, Heather Harmon.

In accordance with Missie’s wishes, cremation will take place at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. and Altera Cremation Services in Elkhart.

Missie was a kind and loving woman who loved spending time with her family and friends. She worked for several retail and production companies in Elkhart County, but most notably worked at the Dunkin’ Donuts in Elkhart. In her spare time, Missie enjoyed reading and watching biographies since she had an appreciation for historical figures and events. She also enjoyed reading her bible from time to time. She especially loved cheering on her favorite football team, The New England Patriots. Missie will be dearly missed.
