Mary K. Rose

Mary K. Rose, 80, of Elkhart, passed away after an extended illness at Greenleaf Health Campus in Elkhart on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 where she was surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 30, 1939 to the late Harry and Esther (McCormick) Scheuer.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Matt) Johnson; three grandchildren, Zachary, Megan, and Abby Johnson; nieces, Lisa Raderstordf, Cindy Green, Angie Divietro, Kathleen McCaskill; nephews, Michael (Cynthia) Scheuer and Mathew Louiseau; sister, Betty (Loren) Louiseau; and many great nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 29 wonderful years, Philip Rose, her parents, and her brother, Robert Scheuer.

A Mass will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1108 S. Main St. Elkhart at 12:00 p.m. with visitation starting there at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Matthew Coonan will be officiating, and burial will follow at St. Vincent’s Cemetery in Elkhart. Billings Funeral Home in Elkhart is in care of arrangements. Mary worked for 37 years as a printer at the Elkhart Truth and had also worked for two years at Dec-O-Art, Inc. She was a devoted member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Mary was a very talented cook, enjoyed craft making, and was a master problem solver. She loved and doted on her grandchildren whenever she had the chance. Mary will be missed by her loving family.
