Marvin A. Betancourth, 47, of Duluth, Georgie, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 1, 2019 at his sister’s home. He was born on April 6, 1972 in Choluteca, Honduras to Lorenzo and Rubenia (Mondragon) Betancourt.
Surviving is his wife Mabel (Ochoa) Betancourth; son Marvin Lorenzo Betancourth; parents Lorenzo and Rubenia Betancourt; siblings, Iris (Saul) Estrada, Fabio (Claudia) Betancourth and Jessica Betancourth; several nieces, nephews and friends survive as well.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ruben and Rafaela Mondragon and Miguel and Dolores Betancourt.
Marvin was working as a surveyor for the Duluth, GA company, Moreland Altobelli Associates, LLC. He had volunteered with the non-profit Honduras Out-Reach. Marvin was a loving husband, father, brother and son; He will be deeply missed by his loved ones.
A gathering of friends and family will be held from 3-7 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2019 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Services for Marvin will begin at 7:00 p.m. with his brother Pastor Fabio Betancourth officiating. A car lineup will form Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with graveside services at Prairie Street Cemetery to follow at 11:00 a.m.
