Mark A. Marvel

Mark A. Marvel, 64, of Elkhart, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at his home.

Mark was born on April 30, 1959 in Mishawaka, IN to the late, Harlan D. Marvel Jr. and Nancy E. (Stevenson) Cabana.

He is preceded in death by his father, Harlan; the mother of his children, Theresa; sister, Vicky Gowdy and brothers, Harlan and Gregory.

Mark is survived by his children, Nickolas (Mackenzie Ross) Marvel of Goshen, Elizabeth (Issac Tarr) Marvel of Elkhart, and stepson, Roger (Stephanie Hartwell) Gries of Elkhart; mother, Nancy Cabana; grandchildren, Ryan, Harlan and Rachel; brothers, Dave, Dan, Tim and Gary Marvel; sisters, Gail Bishop, Deanna Gillis, Brenda Waddell and Kathy Hinegardner; and cousins, Bill, Allen, Joyce, Pat, Linda and Laura.

Mark worked in the construction all his life. He owned Marvel Construction in  Elkhart. In his spare time, Mark played card games with his friends, gardening and collecting coins. At one time, Mark was looking at pursuing a career in cooking before going into construction. He created special side dishes for meals.

Mark was a quiet man and adored his grandkids.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering for Mark will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at The Gathering Place at Centre 1231. (the Northern most building at the funeral home), Elkhart, IN 46514. Per the family’s request, Mark will be cremated.
