Marcea Denise (Tillman) Anderson, 68, of Elkhart, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022, at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born on November 20, 1954, in St. Louis, MO, to the late Richard Tillman and Georgia (Taylor) Abernathy.
Marcea is survived by her husband, Rodney Anderson; children, Erica (Ernest Jennings) Harris, Stacey (Nate) Church, and Byron Harris; grandchildren, Jasmine, Aniyah, Briana, Byron Jr., Amir, and Bryson Harris, Sherman Whitener Jr., Natalie Arnett, and Jackson and Reese Church; great-grandchildren, Darion, Jakai, Alanie, and Novah Harris, and Keyontae McClellan; siblings, Eric Tillman, and Lynn Abernathy; and several stepsiblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and an aunt, Elvie Taylor. She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Georgia, and her stepfather Max.
In accordance with Marcea’s wishes, cremation has been chosen and a private family service will be held. Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart has been assisting the family with arrangements.
Marcea most recently worked in the healthcare industry, earning a degree as a lab technician. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially when it came time for the holidays. She also liked to watch television, particularly Dateline and Jeopardy, and movies, her favorites being the holiday classics, “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “A Christmas Story.”
Marcea was known as a ‘people person,’ enjoying the company of others and getting to know new people. She was an intelligent lady with a fun, loving, and playful personality.
Marcea, along with her personality and love, will be dearly missed by those whose hearts she has touched during her life.
