Loleta Lancaster Life Story

Loleta Lancaster, 57, of Elkhart, IN – Obion, TN passed away on July 6, 2021 with her family by her side.

She was born to the late, John and Gladys Brown-Lancaster, July 12, 1963, in Union City, Tennessee. Loleta graduated from Obion County High School.

Loleta married briefly in 2006, Arthur Williamson.

Loleta is survived by five children, Antyune Lancaster of Des Moines, IA; Latroy Lancaster, Lamar Lancaster, Celia Lancaster and Knioya Dearmond of Elkhart, IN; three brothers, Richard Lancaster and Thomas Lancaster both of Elkhart and Anthony Lancaster of Dyersburg, NT. She is also survived by eight grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her loving father and mother, John and Gladys (Brown) Lancaster; grandparents, Alfonza and Hattie Mae (Wiggins) Brown; aunts, Patsy Brown, Amy Erwin, Peggy Smith, Willie Mae Smith, Uncles, James Clyde Brown and Johnny Mack Brown.

Loleta was so funny and fun to be around. She loved being the life and talk of the party. She had this way of making friends with anyone she came across. One of her favorite sayings was “You understand dat der business right der”.

She was a beautiful person inside and out. She loved makeup and dressing up any chance she got. She would not leave the house without putting on lipstick even if it was just going next door. She needed lipstick that was Lisa. She was a great mom, grandmother and friend. Loleta was immensely proud of her children and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.

A Viewing Ceremony will be held on Friday, July 6, 2021 at 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm. Funeral will be at 1:00 pm in Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at Prairie Street Cemetery, 301 E. Hively Ave., Elkhart, IN 46516. Repast is at 3:30 pm at The Omega Event Center, 2130 Middlebury St., Elkhart, IN 46516.
