Lisa McCann Life Story

Ms. Lisa Dawn McCann, 44, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at the Emergency Department at Elkhart General Hospital following an apparent heart issue on Tuesday, March 3, 2021 at 11:07 am. She was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on September 14, 1976 to Robertson “Bob” (Connie) Goll of Ft. Wayne and the late Bonita (Adams) Goll, who passed away in 2012.

She is survived by her significant other of 19 years Thomas “Tony” Dexter, who resides at home; brothers Ben (Jen) Cunningham of Georgia and Robertson “Bobby” Goll II, Curtis (Martha) Goll and Terry (Beth) Goll, all of Michigan; sister Nicole (Jim) Gagnon of Connecticut and a host of extended family and friends; all who loved Lisa very much.

Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart is hosting Lisa’s homegoing celebration there on Friday, March 12, 2021 with a memorial service beginning at 1:00 pm there. Visitation will begin at 12 noon. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a burial in Hart, Michigan will be held at a later date. Pastor and family friend Ryan Wireman will officiate the services.

Lisa worked in the food service industry for many, many years, recognizable as the general manager at the Burger King on Nappanee Street and as a shift manager up the road at Arby’s.  Cheerful and pleasant, Lisa always enjoyed taking care of her regulars and meeting new people in the process. However, Lisa’s health became an issue in more recent years that caused her an early retirement.

One thing that didn’t slow Lisa down was her visits to “the boat”. She enjoyed spending an evening at the Blue Chip and just about NEVER turned down a trip there. She was also an avid dog enthusiast, and always had a furry companion at her side. Currently, her little shih-tzu pal Maggie mourns Lisa’s loss.

In more recent years, Lisa became quite a television aficionado as well. She loved all sorts of shows, but especially enjoyed watching Shark Tank and M*A*S*H. She was also a very spiritual as well as giving soul and always enjoyed having a chance to help others. Always thankful for God’s daily blessings, Lisa tried to live life to the fullest.

Memorial donations made in Lisa’s memory may be given to the charity of one’s choice.
