Larry Eugene Freshour, 82 of Elkhart passed away peacefully at his home on Monday morning, October 11, 2021. Larry was born on May 22, 1939 in Elkhart to James and Fannie Louise (Wilson) Freshour. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to cherish Larry’s memory and his many stories include his sons Darren (Debi) Freshour, Derrick Freshour both of Elkhart, Daniel Freshour of Bluffton, IN, honorary son Ron Gillison, his sister Phillis Keller of Woodenville, WA. Larry is also survived by five grandchildren Marcus, Mathew (Rina), Dakota, Eric (Casey), and Kristina as well as three great grandchildren Joey, Gracie, and Ava Lynn.
Larry will be remembered as an outgoing, patriotic, family man, full of stories which will live on with his family and friends. When Larry wasn’t sharing stories with his family, he could be found working on his house he built, spending time outside, riding his motorcycle with Ron Miller, snowmobiling, riding dirt bikes, attending the Indiana State Fair, watching wrestling at Northside Gym or visiting New Orleans, one of his favorite places. Larry also loved to play cards, especially Texas Hold’em and Euchre which he was the Indiana State Grand Champion in 1999.
When Larry wasn’t enjoying one of his other hobbies, he enjoyed seeing the country while delivering RVs across the country which he had done for over 20 years.
Larry was a Life Member of the Order of The Moose #599 and a member of Fraternal Order of the Eagles. Larry attended Northside Baptist Church in Elkhart.
Billings Funeral Home in Elkhart will host Larry’s Celebration of Life Service on Tuesday Oct 19, 2021At 11:00 A.M, Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Pastor Nathan Breneman will officiate and burial will follow the service at Prairie Street Cemetery.
