Larry J. Dalton, 77, of Elkhart, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.
Larry was born on December 2, 1943 to the late, George and Della (Pennington) Dalton in Ironton, OH. Larry married the love of his life, Margaret (Cook) Dalton on June 26, 1995 in Ironton, OH.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Della; and brothers, Don, David and Lee Dalton.
Larry is survived by his wife of 26 years, Margaret; sons, George (Colleen) Dalton and Jay (Venessa) Peterson; daughters, Sam (Sean) Sousley, Cindy Egolf, Traci Frankenberger, Angela Peterson and Lynette Young (Brian); 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Larry was a hard worker and jack of all trades. He last was a security guard with Thor Industries. Larry was a machinist as well as worked in sales. He was also in the pest control business with his family as well.
Larry had a strong Faith in His Lord and Savior. He would quote Bible passages as well as give generously according to his Christian beliefs.
Larry was an avid outdoorsman whom loved hunting, fishing, mushroom picking and berry picking. He also liked to garden and play a round of golf. Larry would often watch football (especially if it was Notre Dame losing…LOL). He enjoyed listening to blue grass music and southern gospel in his spare time.
Most of all, Larry will be remembered as man with a great sense of humor and his family was the world to him. He will be greatly missed.
A Graveside Service for Larry will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Olive West Cemetery, 61081 C.R. 3, Elkhart (Jimtown) IN. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart is assisting the family.
