Judy Kay Cole, 64, formerly of Elkhart and Kendallville, died Thursday, April 15, at Cardinal Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in South Bend.
Judy had survived covid one year ago but was in ill health from several illnesses and was in nursing care for several years.
She was born May 29, 1956, in Niles, Michigan, to Joseph and Julia Cole. They preceded her in death.
Judy was a very loving and kind soul with a great sense of humor. Her musical talents were incredible and she always gave more than she took. She worked a number of years at Gaska Tape and Mito Corp in Elkhart before moving to Kendallville with her then husband, Bill Gisel, and daughter Rachel Marie Gisel.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Rachel and Timothy Osborne of Kendallville; grandchildren LiliAn, Evelyn, Gunnar, Aleryk, Kinsley, and Leo. Also former son-in-law Seth Reed, and sister Jacqueline Cole of Elkhart.
Also surviving are nieces and nephews Christy (Ben) Elijah; Jennifer (Steve) Masten; Jamie (Chrystal Miller) Woodfin and Joseph Cole, as well as great nieces and nephews Darren Elijah; Chad Heflin; Jeremiah Akron; Madeline James; Ethan, Cameron and Emma Masten; Lura Woodfin and Madison, Cameron and Joey Cole, Jr.
Preceding her in death were her mother Julia (Robert) Lehsten, her father Joseph Cole and brother Danny Cole.
A memorial service is Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 12 noon, with visitation beginning at 10 am at Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 812 Baldwin Street, Elkhart, Indiana. Pastor Zach McQue of the Pine Hill Church in Kendallville will officiate and in accordance with Judy’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
