Judith A. Chew

Judith A. (Crout) Chew, 81, of Elkhart, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023. Judith was born in Three Rivers, MI on May 22, 1941, to Robert Earl and Evelyn Norine (Fulton) Crout.

Judith is survived by her sons, Gary (Jennifer) Chew and Brian (Stacey) Chew; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and sisters, Bobbie (David) Blatz, Linda Morris, and Rebecca Vaughn. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 62 years, Charles L. “Bud” Chew Jr.; grandson, Timothy Chew; and sister, Pat Ernsberger.

In accordance with Judith’s wishes, cremation was chosen with Billings Funeral Home taking care of her arrangements. There will be a Celebration of Life for Judith on Saturday, February 4, 2023, with a visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. and a service at 2:00 p.m. at That Church on the Rise, 28082 County Road 4, Elkhart, IN.

Judith was a kind, caring, and strong-willed woman who worked hard to be the provider of her family. She graduated from Elkhart High School where she was part of the Elkhart class of 1959. Judith worked at Key Bank in customer service for 15 years prior to retiring in 1997. She was a member of the Elkhart Church of God for many years and was very devoted to her faith in the Lord. In her earlier years, Judith loved camping with her family and during the holidays she enjoyed working with her family to put together beautiful puzzles. In her spare time, spending time on her computer was her favorite activity where she would play Solitaire and Mahjong. Judith will be greatly missed by her loving family.
