Joyce D. Persic, 89, of Elkhart, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at her home.
Joyce was born on June 11, 1932, in Bay City, MI to Carl A. and Hazel Mae (Ferris) Bielby. She married the love of her life, William “Bill” Persic on June 17, 1978, in Elkhart.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Hazel; sons, Steven and David Holliday; brother, Stanley D. Bielby and stepdaughter, Kimberly Shipkowski.
Joyce is survived by her husband of 44 years, William “Bill” V. Persic, Jr; daughter, Susan (Tom) McNeill of Goshen; stepson, Christopher Persic of McKees Rocks, PA; grandchildren, Ryan (Stacy) Love and Mike (Heather) Love; step grandchildren, Brie and Jessica Shipkowski and her dogs, Cinnamon and Precious.
Joyce worked in the medical field for most of her life. She was a receptionist for the Otolaryngology department at Elkhart Clinic for 22 years. She was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and at her church, First Presbyterian Church in Elkhart. Joyce enjoyed volunteering at her children’s school as a library coordinator and past PTO president.
Joyce was a nature lover and enjoyed fishing. She and her husband, Bill enjoyed vacationing and boat cruising together throughout the United States.
There will be no visitation or services at this time. Per her wishes, Joyce will be cremated. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514 is assisting the family.
