Joyce Eileen (Seashols) Kaiser

Joyce E. Kaiser, 98, of Elkhart, IN, passed away on November 16, 2023, in her home in the presence of loved ones.

Joyce was born on November 26, 1924, in Williams County, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late Verl and Lura Seashols. She was married to the late Robert L. Kaiser on December 30, 1945. He passed away on January 18, 1980.

Joyce is survived by two of her daughters, Kathy (Peter) Herman, Julie (Mark) Cuppy; son-in-law, Dave Carter; grandchildren, Kari (Matthew) Hazelbaker, Jodie (Michael) Hadley, Jaxon Jones, Phillip Herman, Aaron Herman, Robert Cuppy, Marckolyn (Rob) Dillon; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Jellison, Madeline Hazelbaker, Katelyn Herman, Corrallyn Dillon, and Elias Dillon. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; brother, Stanley Seashols; and daughter, Janis (Dave) Carter.

Joyce was a homemaker and mother to three girls. She will be remembered as a caring, proud, independent lady who enjoyed a simple life. She loved her family and friends, was a stickler for grammar, played cards in her younger years, loved watching her backyard birds, enjoyed TV sports and games shows. She took great pleasure in helping children during her employment of 10 years as a paraprofessional aide at Mary Beck Elementary School. Those years working with children were very rewarding for her. She would find pleasure in being remembered and recognized some years later by some of those children.

According to her wishes, services and burial will be held in private for close friends and family on December 2, 2:00 PM, at Rice Cemetery. Following the service, you are invited to gather at the Kaiser residence for food and celebration.
