John Thomas Dicks, Jr.

John "Tom" Dicks, Jr., 87, of Elkhart, IN, peacefully passed away on August 13, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. John was born on July 08, 1935 to John and Martha Dicks in the bustling city of Terre Haute, In.  He was the only boy out of 6 children. After John graduated from Wiley High School in 1953, and a year at ISU he entered the military, serving in the Air Force and then the Naval Reserves.  John was a sales and purchasing representative throughout his career.  In 1964 he married Catherine Rosann Sills Dicks and went on to raise four children, Chuck and Karen Sills,  John Dicks and Lisa (Brian) Ridenour.  John’s biggest joy in life was his family.  He always had a joke or song. He loved to play cards and travel with his wife and friends. John was predeceased by his parents, his wife, “Rosie” and son, Chuck, and sisters Helen Hoskinson, Fran Allen and Mildred Scott. He is survived by his children Karen, Lisa and John, grandsons Michael Wolf, and Jonathan and Tyler Dicks and sisters Margaret Hood and Dorothy Scott.  A private celebration of life will be held at a later time. Arrangements are being entrusted to Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart.
