John was a kind and selfless man who was always thinking of others needs before his own. As 1st Sergeant, he served proudly and courageously in the United States Army for seven years as Chief of the Message Center in counterintelligence in Germany serving in many classified missions. After the war, he married the love of his life, Joanna House, on July 1, 1951. John later went on to become the vice president of Vogue Beauty College in Mishawaka for 30-plus years prior to his retirement. When he was younger, he loved to take his wife and daughters camping throughout the year where he would often meet up with friends who were considered part of his extended family. John was also a devout man of God who played a very active role in his local churches as a servant leader. For those who knew John, everyone knew he could light up a room with his infectious smile and have everyone laughing with his sharp sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends.
