Jeffrey A. Berkshire

Jeffrey A. Berkshire, 66, of Elkhart, passed away on Friday, March 5, 2021 at his home.

Jeff was born on December 27, 1954 to Norman and Mary (Maple) Berkshire in Elkhart, IN. He is preceded in death by his parents and his stepson, Shaine.

Jeff is survived by his son, Eric (Kimberly) Berkshire of Elkhart; stepson, Luke Benn of Elkhart; brothers, Norman (Beverly) James; George (Jeannie) Berkshire; sister, Mary Beth Berkshire; and 2 grandchildren, Remington and Emberlynn.

Jeff was a graduate from Elkhart Central High School. He was employed by various local companies in the area including M.S.C. Tools. 

Jeff was a highly touted Softball A.S.A. umpire for over 27 years. He would be found on various baseball diamonds with his distinctive personal flair behind the plate. 

Jeff was also a World War II history buff. He could spend hours teaching from his vast knowledge on the subject. Jeff enjoyed building model airplanes. He had a collection that would rival a museum. In his spare time, Jeff enjoyed disc golfing, going to the movies and listening to music. 

Jeff was a protective father as well as a fun-loving and generous man. 

He always knew the right thing to say and he will be greatly missed.

There will be no visitation or services for Jeff. Cremation has taken place. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514 is assisting the family.
