Janet Kay (Reed) Gran

Janet Kay Gran, 78, of Elkhart, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Goshen Hospital.

Janet was born on October 27, 1944, in Mishawaka, IN, to the late Russell W. and Ruth E. (Wilcox) Reed.

She was married to Gary “Joe” Gran on October 4, 1996. He preceded her in death on October 24, 2014.

Janet is also preceded in death by her brothers, Richard and Dale and her dog, Bogie.

Janet is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (Bruce) Huser of Elkhart; sister, Ruth Ann Studebaker of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Tyler (Brittni) Huser, Jessica Arce and Sarah (Dan) Lyles; 8 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Jan Reed of Elkhart.

Janet was a machinist at C.T.S. Corporation in Elkhart. She was a member of the Goshen Moose Lodge as well as the DAV Women’s Auxiliary, in her early years.

Janet enjoyed being on her phone, whether it was coloring or social media (Facebook being her top choice).

She was cheerful and happy, and her grandchildren were the light of her world. Grandma Janet made sure birthdays and holidays were special.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart. Per her wishes, she will be cremated.
