Jack Lee DeShone, 83, of Elkhart passed away with his wife at his side on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Jack was born on March 8, 1937 in Elkhart, IN to the late, William Henry DeShone and Cleo Maxine (Shively) DeShone. He married the love of his life, Shirley (Crofoot) DeShone.
He is preceded in death by a grandson, Drew Sutter, sister Nancy Rockwell and brother Thomas DeShone.
Jack is survived by his wife, Shirley; children, Randy (Tracey) DeShone, Scott (Kari) DeShone and Pamela (Jeff) Sutter of Brighton, MI; grand children: Craig Sutter, Ryan Sutter, Alyssa Sutter, Derrick DeShone, Brian DeShone, Sarah DeShone, Adam DeShone, Matt DeShone’, Nataly DeShone, Jacq DeShone, Rachel DeShone, Jake DeShone, 15 great grand children; and brother, Harry DeShone.
Jack was a tool and die maker with AA Gauge in Elkhart, IN. He enjoyed activity with kids Including coaching Little League Baseball and High School Basketball. He was an assistant coach on Jimtown’s High Schools 2004 State Champion Basketball Team where he coached with his son, Randy and coached his grandsons, Brian and Derrick. Most of all, he valued his time on the lake or river with family and friends.
A Visitation for Jack will be on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 411 W. Vistula, Bristol, IN 46507. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 Noon with Fr. Bob Van Kempen as celebrant. Inurnment will be at Rice Cemetery at a later date.
