Ms. Irene Suggs-Roundtree, 56, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 1:42 am. She had been battling some health issues for some time. Irene was born in Elkhart on July 14,1966 to the late Senate and Mamie (Redmond) Suggs, and later married Tyrone Roundtree in 1990 in Elkhart. He passed away in 1997 and she is survived by her significant other, Clint M. Wilson of Elkhart.

Preceding Irene in passing are siblings Albert Redmond and Blanche Gates.
The Reverend Danny Brown and the Congregation of the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 802 W. Garfield Avenue, Elkhart, are honored to celebrate Irene’s life on Saturday, February 4, 2024 at 12:00 noon, with visitation beginning at 11:00 am. In accordance with the family’s wishes, cremation will take place following the services and burial will follow at Rice Cemetery at a later date.
Irene worked as a beautician for many years in the Elkhart area. She was also a devout lifetime member of Pilgrim Rest, and was raised, married and soon to be buried within that church. She enjoyed being connected with all of her friends and family on social media, loved to cook (especially chitlin’s and baked fish) and liked to shop and go out and get her hair “did”. She also loved to go out and eat and would go just about anywhere except for McDonald’s. Finally, it should be mentioned that she was a diehard “Law and Order” fan and watched it all day every day.
Please visit the funeral home’s website and Irene’s obituary page to leave condolences and memories. Memorials may be given to the family.
“For every right, there’s a wrong. For every action, there’s a consequence. For every night, there’s a “Law And Order”.
