Helen M Lech

Helen M. Lech, 83, of Elkhart, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020 to be reunited with her husband, Otto Lech, who preceded her on August 18, 2019. She was born in Elkhart on June 6, 1936 to the late James and Dorothy Rowe.

Helen is survived by her children, Heidi (Dan) Ball, Robert “Bob” Lech, Monika (Rob) Mueller, and Mark (Holly) Mueller. She was a proud grandma of Rae and Joe Diegel-Mueller of Indianapolis. Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Otto Lech and her parents.

Helen was a homemaker for most her life and was an avid reader. She loved to read about historical events, biographies, and loved to learn about the lives of past presidents. Helen worked at Robertson’s Department Store for over 10 years. She was also a gardener and had her own flower patch that she would tend to in the Summer. Helen and her husband, Otto, were members of the United Methodist Church of Elkhart.

Cremation was chosen and will take place at Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. A private gathering of family and friends will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may go to the Humane Society of Elkhart, 54687 Co Rd 19, Bristol, IN 46507.
