OSCEOLA — Glenda C. “Sweet Pea” Wynos, 69, of Osceola, passed away peacefully following an extended illness at the Center for Hospice Care in South Bend on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018.
She was born in Mississippi County, Arkansas, July 10, 1949, to the late Justlin and Ruby (Allbritton) Welch, and was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford W. Wynos, who passed in 2015 after 47 wonderful years together.
Surviving are her children, Aleshia (Anson) Bunch and Clifford (Patricia Robertson) Wynos; brothers Justlin and David (Retha) Welch and a plethora of grand and great-grandchildren including Felicia, Cheyanne, Johnathan, Samantha (Cory), Tabatha (Carter) and Sabrina and great-grandchildren Cutee, Madilynn, Jayden and Kyrie.
Glenda was also preceded by sons Wesley Wynos and Randall Fugate.
Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart is hosting a memorial gathering of family and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20.
In accordance with her wishes, Glenda has been cremated.
Glenda worked in the restaurant and hospitality business from an early age in the Chicago area, where she waited tables, tended the bar and even occasionally danced.
Lovingly known as “GG” by her grands, Glenda’s huge heart had room to spare when it came to taking care of family, friends and helping others.
While she loved to joke and have fun with just about anyone, her love and devotion to her family will be a quality that will be greatly missed.
