Foe John Michael Macik, 82, of Elkhart, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023 at Elkhart General Hospital.
Foe was born on July 10, 1941 to the late, Michael Macik and Bernice (Myslyiwic) Macik in McKees Rocks, PA. He was married to Marion Faye (Cagle) Macik whom passed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Bernice; wife, Faye; daughter, Terri Loofboro and brother Orrin Macik.
Foe is survived by his son, Tony Macik of Edwardsburg; granddaughter, Kyley Payton Macik of Osceola; brother, Wayne White of Pittsburgh, PA; son-in-law, Dan Loofboro of Dayton, OH; daughter in law, Melissa Watson of Crawfordville, FL; and sister in law, Donna Buchanan of Tinley Park, IL.
Foe honorably served his country as an M.P. with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. While serving, Foe was a gold glove boxing champion in his weight class.
Foe was employed at Frigidaire for most of his life climbing his way up to district manager. For work, Foe would travel around the country and even won salesman of the year.
Foe was also a member of the Elkhart Moose Lodge 599 and VFW Post 360 in Osceola. You could find him every Friday night at Mr.G’s.
Foe was a diehard Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears (and the occasional Colt’s) fan even attending many games as a season ticket holder. He enjoyed playing golf and in his younger days, basketball. He spread his knowledge of the game by coaching softball and basketball in Elkhart.
Foe was outgoing, fun loving and quite the ladies man! Most of all, he was very generous and his family meant the world to him.
A Funeral Service with full military honors for Foe will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514 with Pastor Jeremy Sarber officiating.
Visitation with the family will be 2 hours prior to the start of the service from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at the funeral home. Cremation will follow with burial at Marion National Cemetery.
