Faya L. Watson, 3 month and 30-day old infant daughter of Ray Lee Watson and ShawnTavia Anderson, was called to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. She was born in Marion County in Indianapolis on April 25, 2021.
Faya is survived by her loving parents; older sister, Raelynn Watson; maternal grandparents, Tanya Malone and Albert Anderson Jr.; paternal grandparents Jeffery and DeShawn Barnes; aunts, Betty Malone and Eluvia Johnson; uncles, Maurice Ellison, Marcus Hawkins, Kobi Barnes, Keith Lasley, Jeffery Barnes, Rommel Anderson, and Rolandis Anderson; and great grandmother, Barbara Ann Whitener. She is preceded in death by her paternal great grandparents, William and Carolyn Hawkins.
In accordance with the family’s wishes, cremation was chosen. A visitation will take place on Monday, August 30, 2021, from 4-5 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart. A celebration of life service will follow at 5:00 p.m. with Minister Jeffery Barnes to officiate.
Faya was born with a respiratory illness and was taken care of by Riley Children’s Hospital for most of her life before she was recently transported and under the care of the Center for Hospice Care in Mishawaka. As young as she was, she had a strong spirit and was always very alert of her surroundings. Faya showed quite a bit of attitude at times and had an amazing strong grip for a little one. She loved interacting with her family and was always very curious. Faya had a beautiful smile that could light up a room and even said her first word that her mother was blessed enough to hear, “Mommy.” Although she only stayed on this earth for a little while, she left an imprint on the hearts of her loving parents and family with her tiny footprints. Faya was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
