Elizabeth “Liz” A. McCourt, 52, of Bristol, moved on peacefully from this world into the next on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born into this world, blessing those around her, on May 22, 1970, in Elkhart to James and Joyce McClure.
Liz leaves behind her children, Blaine McClure and Bridgette (Warren Bomersbach) McCourt; granddaughter, Emma McCourt; sister, Brenda (Kevin) Oswalt; brother, James Robert (Heather) McClure; nieces and nephews, Devin, Destinee, Thomas, and Carmen; and faithful furry companion, Buddy. She passed into the next life where she will be reunited with her mother, father, and her cherished dog, Marla.
In accordance with Liz’s wishes, cremation was chosen and will take place at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart. A private family celebration of life will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be given to the McCourt family directly or can be donated online to https://www.gofundme.com/f/donate-to-help-the-mclure-mccourt-family?utm_medium=email&utm_source=product&utm_campaign=p_email%2B4803-donation-alert-v5 in order to help the family alleviate funeral expenses.
Liz was a fiercely independent and strong-willed woman who loved her children and grandchildren beyond all measure. She had a kind heart and loved all things on mother earth, especially all creatures, big or small. Liz worked for many years as massage therapist and was a practitioner of white magic, which she procured from her Wiccan faith. Liz was also a skilled painter and talented artist. She enjoyed playing slot or Bingo games on her phone from time to time, reading, coloring, and practiced her faith by living by this simple rule, “Harm none and do as you will.” Liz will be greatly missed but memories of her life and love will forever remain.
