Edward J. “Ed” Miller, 94, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, January 16, 2022 in the comfort of his home, at Hubbard Hill Estates. Edward was born on February 2, 1927 in Nappanee, Indiana to the late Joseph M. and Amanda (Schmucker) Miller. He married the former Olive Grace Yoder on September 1, 1962 in Goshen. Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Olive Grace Miller; sister, Elizabeth Tyson, brothers Lester (Martha) Miller, Eli (Connie) Miller; also surviving are a sister-in law, Phyllis (Wilmer) Martin and brother-in law, Marvin D. Miller, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Edward grew up on the family farm. He was a school bus driver for Elkhart Community Schools for 18 years, and Elkhart Cleaners for 20 years, as a route and pick-up and delivery driver. Ed also worked for Tom Naquin, picking up and delivering new and used vehicles. Edward was a longtime member of the Prairie Street Mennonite Church, where he ran the sound system and recorded many services and sermons over the years.
Friends may call for 1 hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. Saturday funeral service at the Prairie Street Mennonite Church, 1316 Prairie Street, Elkhart.
Pastor’s Cyneatha Millsaps and Quinn Brenneke will officiate. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.
Memorial donations are kindly requested to the church or the Mennonite Central Committee.
