Dorothy Lundgren Life Story

Dorothy Jeanne Lundgren, 88, of Elkhart, passed away Monday evening, April 5, 2021 at Elkhart General Hospital, after an extended illness.  A native of Chicago, she was born on April 9, 1932 to the late Holger and Hilda (Cape) Rasmussen. She married her true love Fred W. Lundgren on December 27, 1952 in Chicago. Fred died on May 29, 2008. Dorothy is survived by and will be greatly missed by her three children, David (Tonya) Lundgren, Susan J. (Roger Shay) Lundgren, Tina M. (Steve) Datena; also, six loving grandchildren Miranda, Amber, Dustin, Derek, Nick, Nate and Adam; 11 great grandchildren and her sister Cecile McCarthy.

Dorothy retired from Silvercote (Johns-Manville) in 1975, where she worked in sales. She was of the Lutheran faith.

Dorothy enjoyed drinking tea, watching old movies, gardening, dancing, watching Fox News and she supported ASPCA. Most of all, Dorothy’s family was the center of her life.
