Mrs. Diana Lynn Little Wilkins, 57, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully following an extended illness at Woodland Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at 3:40 pm. She was born August 29, 1962 in McDowell, KY to the late Willis Little and Ekra (Owens) Little, who survives her in Elkhart. She later married Harold L. Wilkins in 1986 in Elkhart, and he survives her as well.
Also surviving are her children Amanda M. (Aaron Clapper) Wilkins, Adam W. (Brenda Schrock) Wilkins, Anthony D. (Olivia Olvera) Wilkins and Scott L. Wilkins; all of Elkhart; grandchildren LeRoy and LeLand Clapper and Preston, Auston, Paxton, Skylar, Rocky, Vanessa, Caitlin, Ethan and Mason Wilkins; sister Debbie (John) Houck of Michigan, Brother Bob Franklin of Baltimore, MD, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, foster kids, in-laws, many children who thought of her and called her mom, and good friends who will cherish Diana’s memory as well. Siblings Donna Burke and Tony Owens, and her faithful dog, Anubis, have all preceded Diana in death.
Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart will be hosting Diana’s celebration of Life service but date and times are private. It is the desire of the family to include everyone in attending Diana’s service, but due to the current public health situation, attendance guidelines and social distancing as mandated by the CDC will be observed at all times by the funeral home staff. This situation is subject to change at any time.
Diana was a homemaker who loved to spend time with her (and everyone else’s, for that matter) children and grandbabies. She had a special ability to relate to children, and the wee ones gave Diana a beautifully vibrant and vivid view of life, of which she was able to draw energy, love and patience. In her free time, she liked to do word search puzzles and watch Little House on the Prairie.
Family and friends are encouraged to browse the funeral home’s website, where one can share the obituary, leave condolences for the family, order flowers, get directions and more.
