Debra J. “Deb” Tom, 63, of Union, MI, passed away after a short illness, Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Deb was born on May 9, 1955 in Elkhart to the late Wilbur McDonald and Rena (Haley) Sailor. Deb married the love of her life Charles R. “Chuck” Tom on Nov. 4, 1972, Chuck just passed on May 16, 2018 after 45 years of marriage. Surviving are her 7 siblings, James McDonald, Robert McDonald, Ray (Penny) McDonald, John McDonald and sisters, Sharon McDonald, Laura Nevell and Linda (Tom) Fager; also surviving are many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband Chuck, 2 sisters Diane Grey and Karen Bell preceded her in death.
Deb was the loving wife, sister, aunt and family caregiver to her husband and family. She enjoyed going to antique steam engine shows and especially liked antique hit-and-miss and Maytag engines. But most of all she will be remembered for love of caring for others and always putting their needs before hers.
Funeral services for Deb will begin at 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 5, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., with visitation starting at 1 pm. until service time. Pastor Jeff Snider will officiate.
