Mr. Dean J. Dudding, 63, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully but unexpectedly on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 12:44 pm. He was born on May 16, 1958, at the US Naval Base at Subic Bay on the island of Luzon, Philippines to the late Jerome “Red” and Anna M. “Ann” (Wyatt) Dudding.
Surviving Dean are his brothers Gregg and Gary Dudding, both of Elkhart, Dave (Rhonda Skipworth) Dudding of Holdenville, OK and Mike Dudding of Riverside, FL; his sister Robin (Claren) Hanson of Shipshewana, and a host of loving nieces, nephews and extended family.
In accordance with Dean’s wishes, no services or viewing have been scheduled. Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart are currently assisting the family with cremation arrangements.
Dean was a highly intelligent and gifted man who preferred the gentle quiet of solitude rather than the hustle and bustle of being around lots of people. He was an over-the-road trucker for the majority of his life, a job which suited his lifestyle quite well. He was also an ordained Baptist minister and was affiliated with the Christian Leaders’ Institute. He often attended the Elkhart County Community Baptist Church or the Riverview General Baptist Church in Elkhart, where he would, from time to time, be asked to preach the Sunday morning message. Finally, Dean was a 32nd Degree Mason and served honorably in the US Navy where he was an interpreter.
Memorial donations may be given to the charity of one’s choice. Friends and relatives are encouraged to leave condolences and memories of Dean by clicking “Tribute Wall” on his obituary page.
