David P. Delks, 58, of Elkhart passed away at his home on Saturday, March 28, 2020. He was born September 12, 1961 in Louisville, KY to Gerald F. Delks of Indianapolis who survives him, and Merry C. (Harris) Delks, who preceded him in death.
Surviving is his daughter Courtney Mary Delks; brothers Steven (Stacie) Delks from Crestwood, KY and Richard (Betsy) Delks of Elkhart, IN and sisters Julie (Mark) Campbell of Indianapolis, IN, Laurie (Fran) Yonkers of Flower Mound, TX and Angela (Brock) Weaver of Elkhart IN. Twelve nieces and nephews survive as well, along with a host of living extended family and friends.
Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart are assisting the family with arrangements. In accordance with their wishes, cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
David was a sensitive and thoughtful son and brother and a loving father. He was a 1980 graduate of Elkhart Central high school and attended Ivy Tech and IUSB. He was a longtime auto enthusiast and enjoyed his career in auto-CAD and CNC programming. He was currently employed at Tuscany Motor Co. in Elkhart at the time of his passing. In his free time, he enjoyed watching NASCAR and football (he was an avid Colts fan). He also enjoyed tinkering with electronics and his 1982 Corvette, as well as spending time catching up with his daughter.
