David Nesbitt Life Story

David A. Nesbitt, 84, of Elkhart, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at his residence. He was born in Noble County, IN on May 3, 1938, to the late Samuel H.A. and Margaret (Green) Nesbitt.

David is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Nancy Nesbitt; children, Rick (Becky) Nesbitt, Craig Nesbitt, Timothy (Caroline) Brill, and Todd (Suzanne) Brill; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Catherine Sprunger; and sister-in-law, Avis Nesbitt. He is preceded in death by his parents; former wife, Juanita (Rich) Nesbitt; and brother, Jerry Nesbitt.

In accordance with David’s wishes, cremation was chosen and will take place at Billings Funeral Home in Elkhart. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in Rock Run Cemetery. Memorial donations may go to Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.

David was an intelligent and kind man who was a hard worker in all his endeavors. He worked for Penn/Johnson Controls in Goshen as a factory manager for 42 years prior to retiring. David served in the United States Army for two years and attended several local Methodist churches with his wife.

In David’s spare time, he enjoyed the simple pleasures in life like going for walks in the woods alongside his wife, Nancy, traveling frequently to Michigan with family and friends, or simply just taking in nature’s beauty during his drives around the countryside. He was a strong man in every sense of the word; strong mentally, physically, and spiritually. David was a loyal husband, loving father and grandfather, and a friend to many.
