David L. Hershberger

David L. Hershberger, 68, of Bristol, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on January 26, 1953 in Goshen to the late Edwin “Ed” and Ellen Arlene (Hoover) Hershberger.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Hershberger; daughter, Vickieanne “Skeeter” (Ray) Murray; sons, Brian (Robin) and Eric Hershberger; daughter in law, Dawn (Alex) Gulik; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brothers, Jay and Dr. Daryl Hershberger; and sisters, June Trcka, Sharon Zepeda, and Rita Bontrager. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepson, York Staub.

In accordance with David’s wishes, cremation was chosen and will take place at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. and Altera Cremation Services in Elkhart. A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 22, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Rock Run Cemetery, 64910 County Rd 33, Goshen, IN 46528 with Pastor Kyle Grant of Grace Bible Church officiating. A Memorial service will follow at Grace Bible Church, 1700 Edwardsburg Ave, Elkhart, IN 46514.

David worked at Kopf Leasing in Elkhart as a truck driver for several years. He was a hard-working man who served as a mentor for the many truck drivers he met through Kopf. David was also an entrepreneur who owned a Fiberglass business (Custom FRP) for 22 years creating parts for motorcycles. He was a member of Grace Bible Church in Elkhart and served the Lord as a good Christian man. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping and spending time with his family and friends. David will be greatly missed.
