Daniel "Dan" Lamar Marker

Daniel “Dan” L. Marker, 77, of Elkhart, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at his home.

Daniel is born on March 3, 1945 to the late Donald and Erma (Kipfer) Marker in Elkhart, IN. He married the love of his life, Carol (Robinson) Marker in Elkhart on June 12, 1993.

Daniel is preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Jr., James and Douglas Marker.

Dan is survived by his wife of 29 years, Carol (Robinson) Marker; son, Shane Marker of Goshen; daughter, Kimberly Marker of Phoenix, AZ and Kerry (Jeremy) Crise of Stevensville, MI; brother, David Marker of Micco, FL and Nancy Marker of Elkhart; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

Dan was a lifelong resident of Elkhart, graduating from Elkhart High School. He was an electronics engineer for his whole life, sharpening his skills at Mito for 32 years. Dan was known as “Mr. Fixit” and he could be relied upon to repair anything from guitar amps to ham radios.

Dan surrounded himself with music, with guitars and guitar amps being his specialty.

Dan enjoyed the outdoors whether it was fishing, gardening or mushroom hunting. He collected antiques with great pride and care.

Most of all, Dan was a family man. He loved to entertain whether it was making wine, cooking or baking for the people he loved.

Dan never complained, he was always a kind man and would help anyone in need. Dan was the “glue” that kept the family together and he will be greatly missed.

A Gathering of family and friends for Dan will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514. A Remembrance service will follow at 12:00 noon with Pastor Jeremy Sarber officiating. A private graveside service will be at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart at a later date.
