Cheryl Etherington Life Story

Cheryl K. Etherington, 73, of Edwardsburg, MI, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Cass County Medical Care surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Covington, KY on August 15, 1950, to the late John and Florence (Williams) Etherington.

Cheryl is also preceded in death by her brother, Jack Etherington. She is survived by her children, Josh (Karley) Vandiver and John Scott (Kathy) Vandiver; grandchildren, Jon, Erin, Bently, and Markus Vandiver; honorary granddaughter, Melanie Trumbull; great grandson, Maverick Vandiver; and her close friends, Marge Etner, Lisa Bivens, Debbie Jones, Debbie Anderson, and Jeanie Warren.

A private family graveside service will be held at Rice Cemetery at a later date. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial donations may be given to the Humane Society of Elkhart County, 54687 County Road 19, Bristol, IN 46507

Cheryl was a strong and independent woman that enjoyed life to its fullest. She worked for GAP Inc. for several years in Kentucky and was an active member at North Side Baptist Church. Cheryl was fiercely devoted to her faith and family. In her spare time, walking her faithful canine companions, spending time with her family during BBQ cookouts, and sharing a good laugh with her friends.

Cheryl was always fun to be around and enjoyed a good joke, even if it was at her own expense. She loved all animals, especially her son’s Great Dane, “Groot”, and her lovable miniature pony, “Mo Man.” Cheryl loved to cook and shared her love of cooking with her granddaughter, Erin, as well as her love of shopping. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
